Welcome to class 6
Hi!
We are a Year 3 class (7-8 year olds) and there are 27 of us. Our class teacher is called Miss Topsey. We have two learning support assistants who help us in the mornings; they are called Mrs Winters and Mrs Stringer.
We work and play in the Elliot building which is next to the ICT room. Our classroom is very bright and colourful (keep reading to see some pictures of what it looks like). We have a lovely view from our windows as we can see Madron church and lots of fields and trees.

At the moment we are really enjoying learning about Invaders and Settlers. We are looking closely at the Anglo-Saxons and have created Saxon jewellery, shields and even a Saxon man and lady wearing what clothes they would have worn. We have used the internet to help us write our names in runes which were the letters the Anglo-Saxon?s used as their alphabet.
We have been exploring materials in Science and have completed some investigations about what properties these materials have. We have enjoyed the practical Science, it's great finding out ourselves!
We started going swimming in September. We visit St. Clare's pool in Penzance every Monday morning. We really enjoy practicing our swimming and hope that most of us will not be wearing armbands by Easter!
Our R.E. work has been about synagogues and churches. We have made little books about all we know about these buildings. We have made our own Star of David which are hung from the ceiling in our classroom. We have also made mezuzha's which are prayer boxes that can be found in Jewish homes and synagogues. We have even written prayers to go inside of them.
