Welcome to Class 3

We are a class of 29 Year One children.

Our teacher is called Mrs Nowell.

We are very lucky to have lots of other people who work with us at different times as well.

Mrs Matthews also teaches us for one day each week and Mrs Emmett, Mrs Jenkin and Sophie are teaching assistants who help us too.

Here are our self-portraits. They make our cloakroom very bright and colourful!

Our work in the first half of the Autumn Term was based on stories about food. We really enjoyed following recipes and making and tasting different food!

We designed and made fruit salads after reading 'Handas' Surprise'. Mrs Topsey, a local artist came into school and worked with us and we used textiles to make some lovely fruit baskets. We had fun sewing and fabric printing. We displayed our work in the classroom.

We made vegetable soup after reading 'The Enormous Turnip' which was delicious!

The story of  'The Giant Jam Sandwich' was funny and we loved designing and making our own jam sandwiches! The best part was eating them!

One of our favourite stories is 'The Gingerbread Man' so you can guess what we made after reading it!

Here is a photo of our cooking.................

Important days to remember.

We need good memories in our class!

 Mondays -  Swimming

                                             Wednesdays - Library books

Thursdays - P.E. kits (white shirts & black shorts)

    Fridays - word books.

Every day we take it in turns to do different jobs:

Feeding the school fish

Shutting the doors to keep the class warm.

Switching off the lights when we leave the class.

Taking the dinner numbers to the office

Being 'helping hands'

Keeping the cloakroom tidy

Looking after the reading corner

We are very helpful and busy children!

At the beginning of the Autumn Term we agreed our class rules.

LISTEN when somebody is talking.

Always try to do your best.

Be kind and helpful.

Be a good friend.

Be polite and remember to say

PLEASE, THANK YOU and SORRY

Work quietly.

Look after things carefully

TALK to your teacher if you are

worried

BE HAPPY AND SMILE!

We all belong to different teams. They are Rudh, Gwyrdh, Glas and Melyn  - the Cornish names for red, green, blue and yellow. We can win team points for all sorts of things:- trying hard, being polite, helpful, kind, thoughtful, playing well with other children and lots, lots more.

We work hard in our class and enjoy learning and finding out about lots of new things.

Our projects this year will help us to explore and develop our skills in all areas of the curriculum.

Autumn Term: Delicious Stories!

Lighting up the dark!

Spring Term: Toys

Things that grow.

Summer Term: Exploring our local area - visiting the woods and the seaside.
